Armenia is part of over 40 international organizations. Armenian forces participated in the KFOR mission in Kosovo in 2004. Armenia is an emerging democracy that lies in the sphere of influence of Russia and also the Western world. Armenia's economy relies on investments and aid from Armenians abroad. Armenia was definitely negatively affected by the world recession, with a growth rate of -15% in 2009, because of this we could consider Armenia's economy to be extremely fragile.
