Biography
Boyko Borisov was born in Bankya, Bulgaria, in 1959. He is the current Prime Minister of Bulgaria and the 50th to hold this post. He has worked for the Bulgarian government in several security related positions and also ran his own private security company. He became the mayor of Sofia in 2005, he left this post in 2009 to run in the general elections and was subsequently elected as the Prime Minister of Bulgaria following this election. He has been criticized for his comments regarding Bulgaria's large ethnic minorities.
