Biography:
Leonel Fernandez was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He is the current President of the Dominican Republic. He studied law at the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo. He was first elected as president in 1996, his party chose a different candidate for the 2000 elections, but he was re-elected in 2004 and 2008.
