Francois Boucher was born in Paris, France, in 1703. When he began his painting career he would paint historical scenes, but he eventually moved to a more playful style. His style was very popular with the French Aristocracy of the time, who would seek an hedonistic lifestyle and try to maximize pleasure. His paintings we're however, also criticized for their nature.
