Duke Charles I of Valois, is the son of Louis I de Valois who was murdered on the orders of John the Fearless of Burgundy. Charles thus became the head of the Armagnac faction during the Hundred Years' War. In 1415 he participated in the Battle of Agincourt where he was captured and imprisoned in England. He stayed imprisoned for the next 25 years. When he returned he spoke English better then French, he made a triumphant return to Orleans.
