Current Situation

Guinea is located in West Africa. Guinea is bordered by Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Senegal and Sierra Leone. Guinea is now under the leadership of a military junta following the death of the president Lansana Conte. Guinea's economy is presently very weak due to poor infrastructure and corruption, however the military junta promises to correct the corruption. Guinea has however large amounts of natural resources, and a few foreign companies are interested in opening major projects in Guinea. These investments could improve Guinea's economy dramatically, as some of the projects are potentially some of the biggest in terms of money in Sub-Saharan Africa.
