Current Situation
Honduras is located in Central America. It is bordered by El Salvador, Guatemala and Nicaragua. Honduras' economy has grown steadily in the last few years. However, 50% of the population remain poor and the unemployment rate is exceptionally high. Honduras figures on the list of Heavily Indebted Poor Countries compiled by the IMF.
