It is bordered by Austria, Croatia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine. Hungary's economy has grown rapidly following the collapse of the communist regime in 1991, however it's growth has slowed down. If Hungary follows certain economic rules it will be able to join the Eurozone and adopt the Euro as its currency. The 2008 financial crisis hit Hungary in October 2008, and Hungary opted to ask for a 25 billion stimulus package from the IMF, the World Bank and the European Union.
