Biography:
Naoto Kan was born in Ube, Japan, in 1946. He is the current Prime Minister of Japan. He studied at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. He was first elected to the Japanese parliament in 1980, he served in several ministerial posts before becoming prime minister in 2010. He became prime Minister following the resignation of the previous president Yukio Hatoyama.
