Biography

Nursultan Nazarbayev was born in Chelmogan, Kazakhstan, in 1940. He is the current President of Kazakhstan. Before becoming president he served as the First Secretary of the Kazakh Communist party, and in 1991 he was elected president. He was re-elected in 1999 and in 2005.
