Biography
Roza Otunbayeva was born in Osk, Kyrgyzstan in 1950. She is the current President of Kyrgyzstan. She studied at Moscow State University. Her political career began with her serving as foreign minister and deputy prime minister, she also served as Kyrgyzstan's ambassador to the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. She was named president following the 2010 street protests and riots that overthrew the government of Kurmanbek Bakiyev. She is the interim president until elections can be held.
