Biography
Hamad bin Khalifa was born in Doha, Qatar, in 1952. He is the current Emir of Qatar. He studied at Sandhurst Military Academy. Before becoming Emir he joined the military and eventually rose to the rank of Major General and also Commander in Chief. He deposed his father in 1995 and subsequently became Emir.
