It is bordered by Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania and Uganda. Rwanda's economy was deeply affected by the 1994 genocide. Rwanda's economy is based primarily on agriculture. The tourism sector is however growing in importance and promises to continue this trend, and will bring in much needed foreign spending.
