Current Situation
Sri Lanka is located in South Asia. It's nearest neighbour is India. Sri Lanka's economy had been growing steadily until the 2004 tsunami and the resurgence of violence with the Tamil Tigers. Since these events tourism and foreign investments levels have declined considerably. Agriculture remains a very important sector, the most important crop is tea.
