Current Situation
The United Kingdom is located in Western Europe. It is bordered by Ireland. The United Kingdom is one of the largest economies in the world. It is heavily diversified with many well-known large multi-national companies. The United Kingdom has been hit very heavily by the 2008 global recession, with its banks posting massive losses and the government launching a huge stimulus package. The new Conservative coalition of David Cameron, have reversed this spending trend however, and have imposed severe austerity measures in a hope that they can control the country's finances and reduce the huge deficits left by their predecessors.
